Katrina & Mauro have been making waves in Whangamata for 8 years now. Owners of Surf N Stay and Surfsup, and with two active young sons Taj and Sando, this is one busy family!
Kat is a Kiwi and Mauro is from Brazil. In 2003 they met in San Diego, California, both travelling and searching for perfect waves. They fell in love and moved to Brazil, where they opened their first Surf N Stay in Rio de Janeiro. After eight years in Brazil, they kept their dream alive of expanding to other destinations and opened Surf N Stay in Whangamata, New Zealand.
Kat and Mauro were friendly and helpful, really enjoyed the kayaking. The house is in a really good location, chilled and pretty decor.

Comfy & homey! The communal lounge was amazing, yoga mats and blocks with a beautiful dining table and super comfy and clean couches. The communal bathroom was huge the shower, very soothing. Loved the natural body products that were available for purchase!
